Oral Fluid Collection Device
Designed for secondary confirmation testing of Oral Fluid for confirmation laboratory testing.
Intended Use
This laboratory method has been specifically designed to make drug testing simpler. The test system consists of an untreated collection swab with a build in adequacy feature and a bottle filled with 1.5mL Buffer Solution. The oral fluid sample is collected and then expressed into the transportable bottle that can be sent directly to a laboratory for ELISA (Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbant Assay), GC/MS (gas chromatography/mass spectrometry), GC/MS/MS (gas chromatography/mass spectrometry/mass spectrometry) or LC/MS/MS (liquid chromatography/mass spectrometry/mass spectrometry) testing.
Summary and Explanation
Oral fluid is an effective specimen for the detection of drugs of abuse. Collection of an oral fluid specimen is less invasive than urine, can easily be observed and is less susceptible to dilution or adulteration. Oral fluid is comprised of saliva and other residues in the mouth. A growing body of literature describes the detection and pharmacokinetics of amphetamines, benzodiazepine, cocaine, methadone, methamphetamines, opiates, PCP and THC in oral fluids. It has been shown that most drugs enter the oral fluid through the salivary glands by passive diffusion from the bloodstream.
Studies have shown that 39 - Tetrahydrocannabinol, the active drug in marijuana, does not pass from the bloodstream to the saliva and therefore you must test for the residual THC parent drug in the oral fluid.
Place the collection device between the tongue and cheek for 2 - 6 minutes for collection of oral fluid
Both sponges will expand with oral fluid collection
Express sample by pressing the collector down inside the buffer vial until discs are fully compressed.
Easy Collection System
Ready for transportation to the laboritory.
Easy, Fast, Secure with maintained integrity for laboratory confirmation testing

Warnings and Precautions
* For forensic and professional use only.
* Follow proper handling and disposal procedures.
* While the centers of disease control (CDC) has stated that saliva is not a potential infectious body fluid and “Universal Precautions do not apply to saliva except when visibly contaminated with blood or in the dental setting where blood contamination of saliva is predictable”, the use of gloves is
recommended for handling of all samples and is good hygiene practice.
